Siatras Funeral Home responsibly undertakes the preparation and international transportation of the deceased from Athens to the specific airport abroad chosen by the family. We take care of all necessary procedures, documents, permits and transportation to Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.

We can also arrange seats on the same flight for relatives who wish to travel in order to attend the funeral, as well as their return tickets.

The preparation and international body transportation package includes:

• Elegant and high-strength coffin suitable for transportation. The coffin is protected by the required packaging and does not need to be changed at the destination.
• Modern internationally approved protective packaging that reduces the total weight by approximately 20 kg, therefore reducing air freight costs.
• Necessary vehicles and personnel for transporting the deceased to a cemetery until departure.
• 2-day stay in a cemetery refrigeration chamber until departure.
• Autopsy, or price reduction in cases where it is not required.
• Cleaning, washing and care of the deceased.
• Dressing with clothes provided by the family and final care of the deceased.
• Full embalming, mandatory for international transportation, with certificates and receipt by a forensic doctor.
• Death registration.
• International transportation permits.
• Document translations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• Certifications by the embassy of the destination country.
• Hague Apostille.
• Transportation to Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” and delivery to the airline.

The price does not include:

• Air freight costs. The receipt is delivered to you and we inform you in advance about the cost of the air waybill. Air freight costs are not charged with any commission by our funeral home.
• Any certification or translation expenses paid to the embassy of the destination country. Most countries accept translations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and do not charge additional fees.
• Any expenses beyond the first 2 days of stay in a refrigeration chamber, at a cost of €32 per day.
• Additional transfers or expenses arising for reasons beyond our responsibility, such as flight cancellations, strikes or delays.
• Price difference due to choosing a coffin of another quality or category.
• Transportation of the deceased from the province or the Greek islands, if required.
• VAT on the service receipt.

All international body transportation services are prepaid.
